Full Description

Armenia is a beautiful country full of culture and heritage. You are missing a valuable visit if you have never explored this natural art on earth yet. Why don’t you plan your next trip with this group tour in Armenia? The things you will see will give you a memorable experience. Let’s know more about the itinerary you will follow on this tour.

First, we let you rest after a long journey in the Aparan. Here you can spend some free time in the town about 50Kms from northwest Yerevan. Then we have the Mikoyan Brothers museum for you to visit, the place to see the perfect examples of designs by the aircraft designers. While moving forward, this tour offers a visit to the Sanahin monastery, founded in the 10th century and got recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After this, you will be happy to go to the Meat Barbecue Master class and offer you the traditional lunch.

Furthermore, you will get to visit the Haghpat monastery built between the times of the 10th and 13th centuries. An enthralling part about the Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries is that they show the pinnacle of Armenian religious architecture. Sanahin means “this is older than other”, while the translation of Haghpat is “huge wall”. The monastic complexes’ styles are different and beautifully evolved from the perfect blend of Byzantine ecclesiastical buildings and ancient Caucasian vernacular architecture.

The distance between the monasteries is only about 20 minutes. Haghpat monastery possesses many attractive Khachkars (cross-stones) dating from the 11th to 13th centuries. So, these destinations are the best place to observe ancient Armenian architecture and history. Then you can have some free time in the Aparan to rest. The next stop is the St. Gevorg church in Mughni; however, St. Gevorg was popular with the name “Slayer of Dragons.” Lastly, the end destination of this trip will be the monument to A.Tamanyan.
