Full Description
It is quite difficult not to include this destination whilst travelling in Armenia. This fantastic tour will introduce you to the Pagan history of Armenia, and show the later spread of Christianity in the country. Garni Temple (77 A.D.) – the first stop – is the only standing temple in the whole post-Soviet area. Garni gracefully stands on a high plateau overlooking the Azat river gorge. You will also see the roman bath house with the mysterious mosaic, made out of 30,000 pieces of natural stones, as well as the ruins of the royal palace of 3rd century A.D.
The next stop of the tour is the monastic complex of Geghard. Translated into English as “Monastery of the Holy Lance”, it refers to the lance with which Longinus pierced Jesus. Later brought to Armenia and kept in the Geghard monastery for 5 centuries. The most astonishing part is the virtue of the architect, who cut the church right into the solid rock whilst considering all the rules of Armenian architecture.

This is my third trip to Armenia, but we had the best service in all Armenia! The driver was so cheerful and patience, even though we had our children with us, but we never heard any complaints from him, on the contrary, he was also talking to them and our children happy to reply. We enjoyed the the timely advice of the driver to stop now and then, to take photos, take breaks. We will always look forward to go to trips with Yerani Team. Not to forget the organizing team, who were the backstage people who made all these nicethings to happen for us, Excellent, bellissimo !

Great tour to see Geghard and Garni + the traditional lavash baking. Nice experience with a friendly guide and driver. Lavash tasted perfect ?

We took a day trip to see Garni and Geghard. We had a great time, it was good fun for the whole group. Some really crazy old churches carved into the mountain and surrounding caves to see at Geghard. Our guide Hovanes was super friendly and even did the tour in English since we had one person with us who didn’t speak Armenian. He even sang for us in the upstairs church at Geghard.

Yerani travel is definitely our choice if ever we are going back to Armenia. They are very professional in their dealings and were highly accommodating with our last minute bookings. They are also very flexible with their tours and can tailor fit it to your requirements. Special shout out to our drivers especially Tigran, but both were excellent drivers and we felt safe despite the long distance travel. Both were also very patient with us given that we were travelling with a 9 mos old baby. They were not fluent in English but they tried their best to communicate with us and give us the necessary information. All in all very happy with our 2 days tour with them.

As I arrived in the airport, I received a brochure from Yerani Travel!
In my hotel, I received very good indications!
I went to the office and reserved 2 tours.
The first one, a city tour, which was great, with a very nice guide, Alla, smiling person.
The second one was a drive to the Pagan temple Garni and the Gerard Monastery! The guide Yasmin was very good too!
