Day 1: Arrival – Transfer from the airport. Upon your arrival our driver will meet you at the airport and accompany to your hotel.
Day 2: Yerevan City Tour: History Museum of Yerevan, Carpet Museum and Carpet weaving masterclass, Brandy Factory, excursion and legendary Armenian Brandy tasting, Genocide Memorial, traditional lunch. Start your journey with a tour in Armenia’s beloved capital – the city of Yerevan, during which you will have a chance to get acquainted with the rich culture of Yerevan, taste Armenian traditional food as well as the legendary Armenian brandy.
Day 3: Group Tour – Echmiadzin (St. Hripsime, St. Gayane, Mother Cathedral, Treasury Museum), Zvartnots, traditional lunch. This daily tour will begin by visiting St. Hripsime church, which was built on the sepulcher of a Christian nun Hripsime who fled from the Roman Empire and was killed in Armenia. This amazing building has stood upright from the day of its construction since 618 A.D, making it one of the oldest standing churches in the world. Five minutes’ drive away will be our next spot: the 7th century church of St. Gayane. After this stop, you will be able to observe the first world’s first Christian Cathedral – the Holy Echmiadzin, built in 301-304. According to the legend, Jesus Christ descended from heaven and showed the place where later Gregory the Illuminator ordered to build the church. On the way back to Yerevan, we will make a final stop at another beautiful 7th century temple Zvartnots, also included in the UNESCO heritage list.It is a unique building with its architectural structure.
Day 4 and 5 : Group Tour To Artsakh. 1st day – Lake Sevan, Dadivank, Gandzasar, Stepanakert (overnight in hotel). 2nd day – Shushi (St.Ghazanchetsots Cathedral), Khndzoresk, Tatev (“Wings of Tatev” cable car, Monastery), “Hin Areni” winery (tour and wine tasting, traditional lunch. Dadivank is another historical site included to this tour. It is an ancient monastery complex in the Karvachar region of Artsakh Republic.The next stop is Gandzasar monastery. It is located in the Mardakert district of Artsakh Republic and dates back to the 10 th century. The overnight will be arranged in the capital of Artsakh-Stepanakert. The next day will give you an opportunity to get acquainted with Shushi which is situated at an altitude of 1,400–1,800 meters in the picturesque mountainscape of Artsakh and is one of the main cities of the Artsakh Republic. Khndzoresk is another spot included in this day trip. The Wings of Tatev will take us straight to the 9th century Tatev Monastery, which once was the educational and spiritual center of Armenia.The longest reversible cableway in the world (5752 m), recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.
Day 6: Group Tour – Garni, Geghard, Lavash Baking and tasting. This fantastic tour will introduce you to the exotic Pagan history of Armenia, and show the later development and spread of Christianity in the country. The first stop is Garni Temple (77 A.D.) –it is the only standing heathen temple in the whole post-Soviet area. The Monastery complex of Geghard is another historical site included to this tour. St. Geghard symbolizes the lance with which the Roman centurion pierced Jesus after crusifixion.Not far from the temple of Garni (about 10 minutes’ walk), there is a cozy local restaurant with an amazing view of the temple, where you can relax and take part in master-class of tasting of freshly baked lavash – traditional Armenian flatbread.
Day 7: Group Tour – Dilijan (Old Town, Geological Museum), Haghartsin Monastery, Lake Sevan, Tsaghkadzor (Kecharis), Ropeway, traditional lunch. It After exploring the Old Town of Dilijan and its gems in the Geological museum we will reach Lake Sevan – the blue jem of the Armenian mountainscape. Lunch will be served at one of the local restaurants, where you can taste delicious fresh fish caught from Lake Sevan. Here you will understand why Armenians are willing to drive for one hour just to have a taste of Sevan fish for dinner.This special experience promises you a trip to the gorge of flowers, the city of Tsaghkadzor – a small Olympic town not far from Yerevan, approximately an hour’s drive away. This destination is referred to as “the gorge of flowers” since it is blooming with an array of gorgeous plants. Many people visit Tsaghkadzor for its fresh air, which is known to have a countless number of health benefits.
Day 8: Group Tour – Khor Virap, Noravank, Areni Cave, Areni winery, traditional lunch
The Khor Virap monastery is located about an hour’s drive away from the capital Yerevan, and offers an amazing view of Armenia’s defining symbol – the majestic Ararat. It was this prison in which they kept Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenian Catholicos, for a whole 13 years. The tour will take you to the Areni cave (Bird’s Cave). In 2008, archeologists discovered several of the world’s oldest artifacts, including a leather shoe and a winery. Another place that can’t be missed is Noravank. It is one of the gems of medieval Armenian architecture, nestled high among the stunning brick-red cliffs in the end of the Gnishik Canyon. Here you will see the one and only depiction of God the Father in Armenia, which is just as astonishing as the face of Jesus Christ that appeared on the dome of the Church’s narthex. What concerns the “finishing touch” to this tour, you will be given a chance to taste and even purchase Armenia’s renowned Areni wine, made from the oldest grape variety in the whole world.
